Dedicated staff/programs for students with special learning needs

Special Education Department

Learning support offered

DIS realises that learners are all unique individuals and, as such, some may require extra support. In these circumstances, the Special Education Department will make an assessment of your child and how best to meet their needs. This will be done in collaboration with you, as well as all of their teachers, so that DIS can understand your child more fully.
The outcome of this will be to produce an Individual Education Plan (IEP), which is designed to meet the needs of your child in school. This will be reviewed and updated on a regular basis so that DIS can monitor your child's progress.
By working together, in partnership with you and the wider family, DIS hopes to offer your child the opportunity to learn and stretch themselves, to be the best that they can be; the same goal that DIS has for all of its students.
