Learning support offered

We have a Learning Support Centre wich addresses the needs of children who have gaps in their learning. They work in a reduced groups (maximum 8) for Maths and English. Ana, our school psychologist, carries out internal assesments and works closely with teachers and external specialists (psychologists, neorologist,...). We do differentiation in class to adapt the work for their level and needs.

To meet the needs of more able children, teachers differentiate teaching and learning to ensure children are provided with challenging learning activities. These children are provided with 'Mastery' level work to deepen knowledge, understanding and skills.

About the school

Qualities and characteristics best defining the school

Elian’s British School La Nucía opened in September 2002 and is part of the well-established IEP Group. Students are able to join pre-school as soon as they can walk and follow a bilingual programme until the age of three, at which point they follow the English and Spanish National Curriculum. Once they graduate they will have the possibilitiy to go to either to a Spanish or International University on equal terms.

Teaching approach of the school

EBSLN promotes the talent of each student and encourage the growth of their self-esteem, according to their personalities and needs on a topics-based routine.
