About the school

Qualities and characteristics best defining the school

Principle of the school comes from the sense of purpose that is generated by all of the staff working together in a common cause. That common cause is to provide the best possible start in education for students so they are able to move through the following stages of their education as confident, happy learners. The happy learning atmosphere at AISB comes from the work of dedicated, highly professional native English speaking teachers, supported by a caring team of Teacher Assistants, nannies, administration and ancillary staff.

The school believes strongly that the AISB educational program provides its students with a strong start to their formal education and their experience at AISB enables them to successfully transition to further stages in their education whether here in Thailand or other parts of the world.

Teaching approach of the school

The Australian emphasis in the school comes from the influence of the Australian curriculum which is adapted from the New South Wales curriculum and it is now based on the Australian national curriculum. Many of our teachers are from Australia.

Although the curriculum is Australian, the multi cultural nature of the school community is celebrated by the recognition of many national and cultural events during the year.

The academic focus is on literacy, numeracy and the creative arts of music and visual art. The curriculum is embedded in the local and international context, with adjustments made to take account of the school's location, and the nationality of all students.
