About the school

Qualities and characteristics best defining the school

OUR MISSION: To edify students in the fullest sense, motivating them to discover and achieve their full potential. To help them to build their own identity, while respecting themselves and their environment to be able to contribute to the improvement of society.
OUR VISION: To be the leading school in personalized, innovative and international education in Barcelona, by enabling our pupils to overcome the challenges of a global world.
OUR VALUES: Who we are; the way we are
Our values make us who we are; to be authentic, genuine, to be distinctive from others, and encourage ourselves to behave the way we do. These are the principles of academic achievement that define our values at Agora Princess Margaret International School.
Our school is a one-line entry, enrolling students from Infant 3 to ESO 4. We are now working on the construction of a new building which will offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme for students from 16 to 18.

Teaching approach of the school

Agora Princess Margaret International School is an IB school. We provide the Primary Years Programme (PYP) from 3 to 12 years and the Middle Years Programme (MYP) from 12 to 16 years. The school's facilities will grow with a new campus to offer the Diploma Programme (DP) from 16 to 18 years, to become an authorised school to deliver the full IB Continuum. As an IB World School, it is an investigative, reflective, active and creative school in a constant process of improvement that aims to develop students who are committed to their future and the world around them. IB World Schools share a common philosophy: a commitment to a rigorous and quality international education we consider important for our students.
The IB is an innovative and international method that requires continuous training of the teaching staff, obtaining clear and tangible results. Currently we are the first and only school in Barcelona to obtain the official PYP certification with 5 special mentions, 3 of which highlighted the excellent cohesion of the whole school team.
Belonging to the IB is an honour and a responsibility. This innovative programme requires the effort and cohesion of the entire teaching team. The aim of the I.B. programmes is not only to stimulate the student to stand out in their studies but also to motivate them to constantly search for learning and new knowledge, openly, ethically and enthusiastically. We seek their academic and personal growth.
The school supports multilingualism and integrates three main languages which are taught to the highest standard. English immersion is set 100% in the first three years in school, EY3, EY4 & EY5, and from then onwards Catalan and Spanish is introduced and taught equally (25%/25%), keeping English as a 50% in every year group. Being a non-local language, English language is taught intensively in all year groups, which leads students to perform and obtain high results in the official English Cambridge exams. Furthermore, our students can choose other languages such as Chinese and French as an extracurricular activity.
Our dedicated staff team is committed to the success of all our children and our learning culture is strong. Our commitment to knowing every child is shared by everyone on the team and we strongly believe that children whose parents are involved in their learning do better. Therefore, we encourage parents to be active members of our school community.
