Use of technology in the classroom

The integration of technology as an educational tool is inherent in learning and teaching at BCIS. The school's ongoing technology plan includes the purchase of state of the art hardware and software for students, digital projectors for many classrooms, interactive whiteboards, and professional development for teachers and support staff.
BCIS has a 1:1 Apple laptop personal ownership program in Secondary School. BCIS chose to use Apple laptops rather than PC-based laptops due to the wide variety of Apple-based educational software and the high level of professional training and technical support available from Apple in Beijing.
All students in Grades 6-12 are required to purchase their own Apple laptop computer. As a result, teachers are able to more efficiently plan for the effective use of technology in their classes.
