The BSB Student Support Team works together with the class teacher, teaching assistants and external specialists if necessary. The team’s aim is to provide additional support, where required, to assist all students at BSB to meet their individual potential. The Team has strong links with class teachers, parents and students which are critical for the educational and emotional success of the students in the school's care.

Across the school, academically strong students will be challenged in differentiated groups (called sets) within their classroom in those subjects in which they excell. In addition, BSB offers a fast track IGCSE programme for its more able students.

New students have to complete an assessment.

Assessment tests are required to access children’s subject levels, not as a barrier for entry. Secondary students complete a CAT4 test and non-native English speakers are tested as to their level of proficiency.

The sports facilities cater for a wide range of indoor and outdoor sports. Students make use of a multi-use sports hall, cardio fitness and weights rooms, indoor heated swimming pool, Early Years swimming pool, indoor basketball courts, outdoor running track and full size football pitch. The Sports Dome features a powerful air handling and filtration system and is fully temperature controlled to create a safe and spacious play space for students all year round.
