Montessori Gran Bilbao International School is a bilingual preschool and elementary school specialized in Montessori.

The Montessori environment allows children to work uninterruptedly during a work cycle. This is a prepared and nourishing space that caters for their changing needs and ‘sensitive periods’ and provides high quality materials initially presented by Montessori ‘guides’. The freedom to explore through play and work is conceived to give children a feeling of control over their learning. This is often shown to be pivotal in the learning process as it focuses on the child’s individual learning journey.

The role of the Montessori guide is to assist the child in completing tasks, to help remove obstacles only when necessary and to plan for the different ages and stages of development. The adult endeavours to have an authentic, safe and trusting relationship with every child in the community so the child can flourish at his/her own pace.
