Technology is applied in classrooms whenever relevant for the subject. We use a wide range of different tools in the classrooms - depending on the subject and the topic.

During Covid-19 we offered online lessons for all age groups, and used various platforms for this.

Our students take the IB exams in M5 as well as the 9th grade exam in Danish.

Dedicated staff/programs for students with special learning needs

ISB is an inclusive school designed to meet the needs of all learners. Students with educational needs will be supported to the fullest extent possible so that all can experience consistent success.

Learning support offered

When a student has special educational needs, ISB’s well-being coordinators will provide expertise to teaching teams as needed. If in-school support is not sufficient, ISB is able to call on external agencies, including the municipal Pedagogical Psychological Support (PPS), for additional help.

Admissions

Entry evaluation for students

For some year levels there will be an assessment and an interview before a new student is enrolled.

The assessment provides an indication of the student’s academic level and any possible learning support that may be required.

We have a waiting list for most grade levels and will be expanding over the next couple of years.

Registration preferably before 1 September, but students are enrolled throughout the year.

School start time

Classes start at 8:00 every day.

School finish time

The school days ends at 14:00/14:30/15:25 depending on year level.

After School Club care is available for Kindergarten and P1-P5.

There is no school bus, but the bus station for public transportation is only 5 minutes away on foot.

School provided lunches

ISB provides morning snack, a healthy and international lunch as well as afternoon snack for all students.

We can handle minor allergies and diet requirements. Vegan and vegetarian food options are available.

Uniform required

Students are not expected to wear a uniform at ISB.

Extracurricular activities

Extracurricular activities or clubs offered

ISB’s After School Club is offered for Kindergarten and Primary and runs from 14:00 to 17:00 (16:00 on Fridays). The typical schedule is snack, followed by time outdoors, and then optional activities and free-play, both inside and out. After School Club is an obligatory part of the school fee.

Sports activities included

All grade level from P1-M5 have to lessons of PE every week.

Sports teams or sport competitions available for students

We participate in the local, municipal tournaments with the other school in the area. We encourage all students that want to do extracurricular sports/music/dance/art activities to join the local "foreninger" / organisations that offer a wide range of activities for everyone.

Our buildings are light and welcoming, with facilities such as Assembly hall, creator space, food lab, libraries, and music rooms.
