The school itself is neat, the facilities are well equipped and the curriculum seems adequate as well. There is a lot of learning through play which is the school's motto as well.
This is all well and good on paper, but there seems to be some inner...mismatch with this. They recently employed many new teachers, and as the size of the school's staff grows, it seems to me that the quality stretches thin. There are more and more rude and outdatedly strict teachers in the lot. I would have thought the school should scan these qualities before and even after employment since one of the establishment's pride is the modern approach and that they are allegedly kind to children.
The parents have to shoulder the school's responsibilities more and more. I hear many parents are having issues with that, but their opinion is not heard or implemented. There are a few yearly questionnaires, but they are not addressing these problems and it is just getting worse. In a way that parents need to endure and pay, while the school grows into a kind of discriminating dictatorial place. It is also a factor where you came from. If you are part of a bigger and wealthier country, you are usually treated better than those from a lower-income, smaller, or generally not well-regarded one. I see these day by day and makes me sad because IB schools are still a rare thing, and when parents find one and pay a hefty sum for it, they expect the quality to match, naturally. But then the quality has to be monitored so that it stays up to par and the chiefs should promote and demote accordingly, not sweep it under the rug and cover for the bad teachers and supervisors, which hurts the families themselves.
Communication-wise it is also worth mentioning that they tend to be quite late with notifications regarding upcoming events requiring special preparation and time off from work for the parents.
Earlier I found some reviews of the school on Facebook where people were commenting on similar issues. The school's response was dismissive and frankly kind of rude. But lo and behold, those reviews are now completely gone and there is currently no review option on their Facebook page...that is always a red flag when freedom of open criticism is stumped about an establishment. And I would add that anonymity too, is a great necessity in a community where you are treated differently based on how valuable you are to the school and not vice versa.
