Qualities and characteristics best defining the school |
Our bilingual international school, founded in 1987, is distinguished by its unique status as a SCOP (an Educational Cooperative). This independence ensures that our decisions are never driven by financial profit but are guided by our commitment to embody and promote the fundamental values of academic excellence, inclusion, respect, and the personal growth of each individual. Bordeaux International School is the only school in the region accredited by the CIS (Council of International Schools) proposing bilingual French-English education across the Early Learning, Primary and Middle School sections. Additionally, we offer the Cambridge International IGCSE, AS and A Levels in Upper Secondary. Each year, our school welcomes students from approximately 40 nationalities who come together to learn in a caring and supportive environment. with small class sizes (maximum 10/12 pupils per class in Early Learning and 16 students per class in Primary and Secondary) to ensure that all students receive the support and guidance that they deserve. |
Teaching approach of the school |
Our students are inspired to become proactive, responsible global citizens. We prioritise not only academic excellence but also the development of lifelong learning skills, effective communication, appreciation for diversity, and a strong sense of global citizenship. Our dynamic and experienced multinational teaching team provides an active and differentiated learning environment, encouraging students to challenge themselves and reach their full potential in a stimulating setting. We ensure continuity of curriculum and facilitate the acquisition of language skills due to our immersive bilingual programme.
