Our vision regarding technology is to provide every student with the digital competencies that prepare them for the ever-changing world that we live in. We create a culture where everyone embraces new ideas and technologies. We guide young adults to become principled digital citizens. Avenor College has developed the “ Bring Your Own Device” program in the belief that this is a suitable way for the school to provide teachers and students opportunities to extend and enrich learning by: shifting instruction towards more engaging, autonomous, student-centered learning where inquiry and authentic learning are emphasized (Skill Based); focusing on 21st Century Learning, including critical and creative thinking, collaboration, communication, self-direction, and global and cultural awareness; using online learning tools and digital content. When used during class time, devices can and will do more than substitute learning tasks that can be equally done offline – they will be used for tasks where technology enhances learning and offers appropriate challenge, differentiation or/and personalisation. The use of technology opens the door for student’s voice, choice and agency, promotes independent thinking and increases motivation.

We consider the current moment as one that opens new horizons in education, one in which learning transcends the walls of a classroom, in which students are connected to learning in different flexible ways, depending on their interests and particularities. We are constantly working to develop our pedagogy in accordance with the latest research and technologies of the latest generation, to meet the needs of all students, whether they are physically present at school or at home, accessing learning synchronously or asynchronously.
Our goal is to continue to provide an effective and relevant education to our students, always taking into consideration these essential areas.

Avenor College is a non-profit, bilingual international school rooted in Romanian culture. It co-creates for each individual student aged 2 to 18 a challenging learning experience, providing them with skills for the future.

One of the multiple meanings of the term “curriculum” refers to “road/route”. The essence of the Avenor College curricular and co-curricular route consists of reconfiguring the National Romanian Curriculum by focusing education on the student. Adaptation of teaching to individual learning needs involves the use of complementary educational strategies along with varied and interactive teaching materials.

Thus, education at Avenor College is founded on a skill-based curriculum, where teaching and assessment by means of project based learning (PBL) create real opportunities of progress through a series of direct and indirect learning experiences in formal or informal contexts.
