Use of technology in the classroom |
In the Preschool and Elementary School, students use a range of multimedia resources including iPads and Chromebooks to support STEAM experiences in the classroom. Robotics is integrated into the Preschool and Elementary School curriculum, so students learn to program and code as well. EAC implements a 1:1 laptop program in the Upper School. During Middle School, students have opportunities to take courses in Art and Design, Graphic/Multimedia Design, Introduction to Engineering, Programming & Coding, and Robotics. In High School, students may choose to pursue their interests and passions in any of these areas by taking a specialized elective course. EAC's goal is to provide students with the skills and knowledge they need to learn and live productively in an increasingly digital and automated world. With the 1:1 program and access to mobile devices, access to technology and information is no longer a privilege but a necessity. To work and thrive within a supportive school community it is vital that all members of the EAC community understand what it means to be a responsible digital citizen. EAC explicitly teaches students what it means to be a responsible digital citizen and offer learning opportunities for our parents as well. |
