Being an inclusive school, SGGS also has a class for children, who have specific learning challenges that cannot be met by mainstream education. In this small class, with a maximum of 10 learners, each learner has their own personalised individual education plan (IEP) to enable them to reach their full potential. Although they have their own learning plan that includes library, computer, art and music periods, these learners also integrate into other mainstream activities such as sport, choir and market days. The learners are guided and tutored by a qualified special needs teacher who is assisted by a facilitator. |

About the school
Qualities and characteristics best defining the school |
St George's Grammar School combines the richness of tradition with innovation while embracing the fast changing demands of the information age. SGGS believes in creating a safe, nurturing environment where children can build a strong foundation for learning from Grades Pre-R to 12 in an inclusive and diverse environment. The whole school is located on one campus in the heart of Mowbray, with each section occupying its own building. We offer an excellent academic and extra-curricular programme that includes space for spiritual growth, ecological awareness and appreciation of the arts. The school's commitment of service to the greater community is underpinned by our association to Round Square and the President's Award. |
Teaching approach of the school |
One of the most precious gifts a parent or family can give a child is a sound values-based education. Through innovative education St George's enables children to develop their talents, treasures their uniqueness and prepares them to contribute meaningfully to society. |
