Teaching approach of the school |
With an education programme which encompasses all stages from Preschool to Baccalaureate, ALIS aims to provide its pupils with an all-round education through stimulating activities. ALIS understands that happiness and motivation are key to effective learning. |
Preschool is the basis for all the educational process. It is the time when foundations are laid. During this stage, the children start their development and an early stimulation allows the brain cell connections to multiply.
We offer the Primary School Programme (PYP) from 2022. At this stage, the children hone their personality and learn skills and knowledge related to oral expression and comprehension, reading, writing, and sums. They also develop social skills, work and study habits, artistic feeling, creativity and emotion.
Secondary Education (ESO by the Spanish acronym), is an important phase in pupils’ lives.
We offer a broad and demanding curriculum, focused on different learning competencies, in which pupils gain not only a good command of the fundamental skills, they also gain an all-round knowledge which stimulates their critical, analytical and rational thinking. We take into account the various needs of our pupils at this age, as well as the range of interests they have when considering their future.
Agora Lledó International School offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme since 2011. This prestigious programme is recognised worldwide for its high quality, developing and strengthening an international mindset and positive attitude to learning. With the International Baccalaureate, pupils can end their learning journey at our school with international studies which allow them access to the best universities in Europe and around the world.
The majority of our pupils who decide to study the Baccalaureate have made up their minds to go to university. These two years involve a great deal of theoretical content, and it is important to follow each pupil’s academic and emotional progress closely to ensure that they reach their full potential. The school's aims during this stage are double: on one hand, we offer pupils a high academic level to help them achieve the best possible results in their University Entrance Exams (PAU), and, on the other, to shape people able to successfully face the high demands of university.
Agora Lledó International School is located in some wonderful natural surroundings full of orange groves and 200 metres from the neoclassical Lledó Basilica. Our wide open spaces are one of the keys to our educational project, which gives importance to learning through living.
In addition, the school is an official music conservatory as well as a sports centre with facilities that adapt to every sporting need, such as a semi-olympic swimming pool, a children's swimming pool, basketball and tennis courts, two outdoor artificial turf football pitches and one indoor pitch. Thanks to these facilities Agora Lledó International School excels in sports and takes part in gymnastics, swimming and football competitions on a national level.
