Entry evaluation for students

Application to CMIS is competitive. All students must have a comprehensive level
of English language proficiency before they may be considered for enrollment.
The primary conditions for acceptance are academic eligibility, English language
proficiency, and exemplary behavior.

Brief description of entry evaluation required

Applicants for entry into Pre-school to Grade 12 are given age appropriate assessments to determine math and English language proficiency and eligibility.
The English assessments cover the four language domains of listening, speaking, reading, and writing for grades 2-12, Pre-school to grade 1 are not given a math
assessment. Both the math and English assessments are administered in English
without translation or outside assistance.

Deadline for registration (new academic year)

Applications for fi rst semester enrollment are accepted from January through August. Elementary School and Middle School students may apply for enrollment at any time throughout the semester, provided that appropriate vacancies exist. High School applications may be considered for enrollment up until the second week of the semester. Applications received after the cut-off dates will be asked to delay their enrollment until the start of the following semester.
