External examinations or assessments available

We offer an innovative and exciting bespoke international curriculum through the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC) and International Primary Curriculum (IPC).

The IEYC and IPC curriculum is taught in over 2,000 schools and 98 countries, making it a truly global and international curriculum. The school will offer a NEASC accredited US High School Diploma or IB Diploma to students who are preparing for entry into the best international universities.

Kindergarten Years
Pre-Kindergarten (PreK), KG 1 and KG 2 will follow the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC). The IEYC uses international best practices, holistic inquiry and play-based approaches that cover all curriculum areas including personal, social and emotional development.

Elementary Grades
Elementary Grades will follow the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), an internationally recognized and renowned curriculum. It is a comprehensive, thematic curriculum which is creative, develops international mindedness and encourages personal learning. The Mathematics and English basics will be guided by the English National Curriculum, with rigorous learning goals, in these subjects. Arabic, Islamic and Qatar History will be taught in line with the Qatar National Standards.

Middle School Grades
The Middle School Grades will incorporate the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC), which is a challenging, internationally minded and concept-focused curriculum. The IMYC encourages creative and critical thinking skills in a thematic based curriculum to develop active and engaged learners. With specific subject and personal learning goals, it provides a clear structure to develop knowledge, skills and understanding whilst connecting subject learning to their own cultural context. Mathematics and English basics will continue to be guided by the English National Curriculum along with the subjects required for Qatar and their guidelines.

Senior Grades
Students in Grades 9 and 10 will be able to choose to complete the IGCSE exams or they can follow the school-based curriculum which will be accredited by NEASC, a US accreditation organization. Students in Grades 11 and 12 will continue to study the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP) curriculum or they can pursue the school-based curriculum. Students will be able to choose to complete country-specific exams, such as the SAT if required by their university of choice. Both pathways will provide The Hamilton International School graduates with a school-based High School Diploma, accredited by NEASC, a US accreditation organization. This diploma will prepare them for and allow entrance into universities around the world.

Entry evaluation for students

Our admissions policy has been written to ensure that the school is following fair and appropriate procedures regarding the selection of children.

STEP 1 Submit your application

Register your interest now for Pre-KG to Grade 11.

STEP 2 Meet our admissions team:

Once we have reviewed your application, we will invite you to come to tour our facilities and meet with one of our admissions specialists to give you the opportunity to ask questions about the school and understand more about us. This meeting is also a chance for us to learn and understand what is important to you and your family. These meetings can be virtual or onsite.

STEP 3 Assessment:

A member of our admissions team will provide information on the playdate/assessment date and time. Please note if you are applying from overseas, applicants will sit an online assessment.

STEP 4 Offer:

Successful applicants will receive an offer letter for a seat at The Hamilton International School within 2 working days of attending the interview.

STEP 5 Securing Your Child’s Place:

Once you receive an offer, you have one week to complete registration and pay the registration fee to secure your place. The registration fee is QAR 5,000. This fee is non-refundable. By this stage, your child’s documents will have all been submitted.

STEP 6 Starting School:

The school fees should be cleared for the term before the first day of school. Placement of our students in their new class is carried out by our academic staff and senior leadership team. You will be invited to visit the school before term begins to meet us and to find out about the day-to-day running of our new school. We then look forward to welcoming you on your first day!

Brief description of entry evaluation required

A virtual or on-site assessment is required for all new applicants. This assessment takes a maximum of 30 minutes to complete with one of our specialized teachers or trained staff.

Uniform required

We want students to feel a sense of belonging and pride and to represent the school in an appropriate manner whilst still wearing clothes that are comfortable and suitable. The Hamilton International School is part of International Schools Partnership (ISP), a UK-based owner and operator of over 62 schools globally. Hamilton first opened its doors in August 2019. Today, the school caters to over 80 different nationalities with 150 staff members from 26 different nationalities.
The Hamilton International School is open on a large state-of-the-art campus in Mesaimeer, Doha. Hamilton boasts a range of world-class facilities, including the largest theatre of any school in Qatar, a dedicated indoor sports center, outside sporting facilities, state-of-the-art science laboratories, ICT suites, music and production facilities, STEM and creative arts-focused rooms. Being part of ISP, allows the students to have access to a plethora of co-curricular activities from ISP Quran competition, I am scientist, Math Challenge, Reading Challenge, Chess Competition, VR Buddy Exchange, VR MUN, Futures, and Film Festival… At Hamilton, students elect a student council for primary and another for secondary. Students take part in art competitions, sports competitions, and an extra-curricular program that runs daily after school.
