We have assistants in kindergarten, and individual shadow teachers or SEN assistants in any grade (more information on the SEN category below).

Each teacher uses technological tools in the teaching and learning approaches subject to tasks at hand or projects. I-pads are required from Grade 4 / CM1, and may be lent in younger classes for particular tasks or activities. Platforms for communication with parents, homework posting and class activities are used.

The online classes during Covid were made possible and implemented throughout by use of video conferencing systems. This system, and communication via usual school platforms subject to the duration of need, are available at all times and are resorted to when any new situation requires the school to be closed, such as weather conditions.

The classes for muslim religion are mandatory for the students who are registered as muslims. Such classes are dispensed at the school, included in the regular school timetable.

Other students not following religious studies follow activities relating to their academic and knowledge development.

Our students participate in national examinations as part of the French national education system. These include the Brevet des Collèges in troisième (Grade 9), leading to the Bilingual French-English IB (ICE is an IB-World Candidate School at the time of this information), and the French International Baccalaureate (American Section) within the French curriculum in high school.
Importantly, as part of the bilingual framework of ICE's bilingual education program, students also take the IGCSE exams in grade 10.

The current examination results available at this time are the Brevet, 100% success, and 100% with 'Mention' (Distinction).

Yes, teachers do assign homework within reason. In other words, it is not a systematized obligation to assign homework but rather a logical completion to school day tasks.

When assigned, homework is not to exceed 30mn in total per day in Primary. It fluctuates variably in Secondary.

Our school has a Special Educational Needs (and Disabilities) Coordinator (Coordinatrice Élèves à Besoins Éducatifs Particuliers) and a team or support teachers. The school values, follows and adheres to the inclusion norms established by the KHDA (local educational authority). The goal is to ensure that every single child who has a special need is supported appropriately, whether the condition/need is known before joining the school or uncovered during attendance at the school.

Individual 'shadow' teachers or SEN assistants may intervene in any grade, on a case-by-case basis for students with Special Educational Needs, within the framework of personal Individualized Educational Programs (IEP / PAP, PERP) elaborated and established with the parents, after joint collaboration, sometimes with intervention of third parties such as therapists, in and outside of the school.

Gifted, differently able, and talented students are sought and invited to join extra curricular clubs, for free, where they are encouraged and supported to improve their practice. These may lead to competitions or tournaments. The students who are gifted in typical academic subjects are placed in 'challenge' groups during some classes.
