Use of technology in the classroom |
As a Bring Your Own Device school (BYOD) students in Years 3 – 9 have access to iPads and an Apple pencil to promote creativity, work collaboratively and gain access to transformational feedback opportunities through selected applications. The classroom is no longer a static environment with a teacher working from the front. With multiple display panels, teachers can provide several learning opportunities for students within the same lesson. Teachers utilize iPads to roam freely around the classroom, providing focused support where needed and sharing resources and activities via Apple TV’s. Virtual Reality headsets allow students to explore space stations, walk on the great wall of China and visit the Holy Kaba, without stepping out of the classroom! 3D printers, digital visualizers, interactive tables, and a selection of software applications equip students with 21st century digital skills in preparation for life beyond school. Students will use Augmented Reality on their devices to understand key knowledge in an immersive, experiential and interactive way rather than through a worksheet or video. ISCS uses, technology to aid learning, enhance student experiences and empower them to learn independently through the use of technology. All aspects of learning will be carefully tracked, and parents have access to their child's learning and feedback given by the teacher, which will promote a strong home-school learning experience. |
