This pilot year of 2022-23 we have capped our registration at an exclusive 100 students. In the future, we plan to expand by 150% each year up to 1,000+ students over time.

Max. number of students per class

Our students participate in a hybrid program with Dwight Global School, so most classes will be completed synchronously online, but with Dwight's brick-and-mortar school on ISD Academy's campus, there will also be availability to meet with teachers and complete labs in-person when necessary.

Each class will have between 10 and 30 students, and there will be additional office hours with teachers if students want one on one or small group time to discuss anything they need.

For the larger classes, there will be teaching assistants present. Additionally, each student will be assigned a dean they can go to for any questions or extra resources they may need academically.

We stay up-to-date on the most advanced learning technologies in our classrooms and labs.

Yes, as our program is delivered as a hybrid program and online, each student will have their own laptop as most of our classes will be completed in a live, online classroom.

ISD Academy does not offer religious studies, we are a secular school, however we respect all religious affiliations and individual students are free to practice their religion of choice at ISD Academy.

How does the school accommodate non-religious students or students of a different religion?

We understand that our students come from a large variety of backgrounds and religions, so we are open and willing to accommodate all religious requirements, such as catering to specific meal needs (halal, kosher) having designated prayer rooms etc..

External examinations or assessments available

Students are encouraged to schedule and complete an SAT or ACT test for general aptitude and a TOEFL or IELTS to measure English language proficiency during their time at ISD Academy.

Results in these examinations

Students must pass these standardized examinations in order to be accepted by American colleges and universities.

Do teachers assign homework to their students?

Yes, students will have homework to complete.

Approximate hours of homework given

Student-athletes will follow a strict schedule through the day to manage their premier educational and sports development, and they will have 1-2 hours of homework on average each night to complete following their evening sports training.

Our goal is for every ISD Academy graduate to earn a full scholarship to a college or university in the United States or Europe, and/or to have an opportunity in professional sports.

The Quest program provides more extensive support to students with documented learning differences (for a fee).

These students will receive extra care and attention at their student housing, in the classroom, and on the sports fields or courts.

ISD Academy gives every student the greatest opportunity to achieve their largest goals through success in both academics and athletics. Our athletics programs are all developed on basis of high performance athletes.

Each student will be assigned a Dwight School dean who will be able to support them for any educational questions or concerns they may have in their time at ISD Academy.

Brief description of entry evaluation required

When a student or parent is interested in registering, they should contact isdacademy@isddubai.com and the ISD Academy representative will collect the necessary documents and information to pass along to coaches and Dwight admissions associates. Students are evaluated on both their academic transcripts and athletic performance.

Waiting list

Yes. Students will submit their applications and be placed on the waiting list for evaluations

Deadline for registration (new academic year)

ISD Academy considers applications on a rolling basis as students who miss the first term deadline can commence in the second term.

Students can join after academic year begins

You may file an application any time throughout the year. However, admission is on semester basis enabling the students to earn the credits for a full semester.

School start time

We begin morning sports training between 7:00 and 9:00 am. Class times vary, but most students will begin between 10:00 and 11:00 am.

School finish time

Class will be finished by 5:30 or 6:00 pm, so students can arrive on time for evening sports training, which will go until 8:00 or 9:00 pm.

Supervised care before/after school

ISD Academy students live on campus in student housing, so there will be an RA on the floor for any student needs.

School bus service available

The only activities not on ISD Academy's campus are external sports competitions, and we will provide transportation to these.

School provided lunches

ISD Academy has a healthy, nutritional food provider on campus: Theo's Point. They provide students with all three meals and snacks, delivered each day of the week to the student's apartment.

Food alternatives for special dietary needs (ie. vegan, kosher, halal etc)

Theo's Point can accommodate any special diet that a student may have.

Uniform required

Uniforms are required for class and sports training.

Extracurricular activities or clubs offered

The focus for our students is on maximizing athletic development and academic intelligence. Their prefered sport will have them joining a sports club.

Sports activities included

We have gold-standard sports development programs for football, tennis, cricket, rugby, athletics, basketball, and padel. Each student will participate in one of the seven sports.

Sports teams or sport competitions available for students

Each sport will compete with and against the top players at their age in the region. They will also take two two-week trips internationally for collegiate and professional scouting, one to the United States and one to Europe or Asia depending on the sport. Our campus boasts 4 football pitches, 2 rugby pitches, 4 tennis courts, 2 outdoor padel and 6 indoor padel courts and 1 9 lane athletics track as well as 3 fully equipped performance lab gyms.
