About the school

Qualities and characteristics best defining the school

We are a highly aspirational organisation, committed at our core to planning, launching and developing a leading international school within the Greater Bay Area. This drive towards excellence has started with the design and construction of an exceptional facility. We have worked with world-leading architects to create a facility which deeply enhances contemporary teaching and learning. Our vision is to be the acknowledged leader of excellence in international education. We commit to providing outstanding learning opportunities, through an environment of mutual respect, transparency and engagement.

Teaching approach of the school

We adopt international curriculum strengthened by best practices from around the world.
- Early Years: Our unique Early Years curriculum is custom-built to suit our young learners. We adopt the Reggio Emilia practice for its recog- nition in fostering creativity and student agency while supported by the International Baccalaureate framework. We complement our play-based programme with high academic standards. Our focus on inquiry and self-guided learning is supported by well-qualified and experienced educators, who partner with parents in the educational development of each child.
- Primary Years: As an inquiry-based and conceptual driven programme, the Primary School will ensure that individual subject areas are strong and challenging, whilst having students explore the connections between each subject area. Our programme is well placed to help students apply their knowledge, skills and conceptual understanding in real-world situations.
- Secondary Years: ISA Science City implements the International Baccalaureate’s (IB) Middle Years and Diploma Programmes. The Middle Years Programme (MYP) runs from grade 6 through to grade 10 and provides an inquiry-based, student-centred educational journey for students from age 11 to 16. The MYP focuses on eight academically rigorous subject groups, but also recognizes the importance of approaches to learning and service learning. The Diploma Programme is a rigorous, challenging and balanced two-year pre-university preparation programme that will be implemented at ISA Science City international school in Grades 11 and 12, commencing 2021. The Diploma Programme provides outstanding research-based education, developing both disciplinary and inter-disciplinary knowledge and understanding.
