About the school
Qualities and characteristics best defining the school
|
Westlink International School Hanoi is a new international school owned and operated by International Schools Partnership (ISP), one of the world’s leading school education providers. It will offer an International Program which will be facilitated through authorization by the International Baccalaureate (IB) Organization. The rigorous program, focusing on high expectations, critical thinking, effort, and 21st-century skills, will prepare students to enter university successfully, no matter where in the world they wish to go.
|
Teaching approach of the school
|
Westlink focuses on developing amazing experiences for its students to present unique learning every day. Westlink's curriculum nurtures its students’ minds and hearts, emphasizing academic skills as well as professional and personal skills to develop responsible and caring individuals. Westlink also offers students a wide range of opportunities to find and follow their strengths, including an impressive range of co-curricular activities, sports, clubs, community service and student leadership roles.
|
IB Program (International Baccalaureate)
Westlink offers the rigorous International Program from Grades 1-10, which aims to do more than other curricula. The IB gives students distinct advantages by building their critical thinking skills, nurturing their curiosity and their ability to solve complex problems. IB programme frameworks can operate effectively with national curricula across all school ages; more than half of IB World Schools are state-funded.
The IB’s programmes are different from other curricula because they:
– encourage students of all ages to think critically and challenge assumptions
– develop independently of government and national systems, incorporating quality practice from research and our global community of schools
– encourage students of all ages to consider both local and global contexts
– develop multilingual students.
MRC (Moet Replacement Curriculum)
Our Moet Replacement Curriculum blends the curriculum issued by the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) with the US curriculum. Students will divide their time between specialist subjects taught in English and MOET subjects taught in Vietnamese. The curriculum complies with MOET’s guidelines but also utilizes US curriculum outcomes and standards, as well as a student-centered teaching approach that focuses on cultivating problem-solving, critical thinking, innovation, and collaboration skills.
Students from Year 6 to Year 9 in the MRC will study a range of subjects such as English, Applied Science, ICT, Arts, Music & Drama, Physical Education (PE).
At the end of Year 9, students can transfer to the International Program and undertake a specially devised preparation year for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program.
Our Campus
Occupying an area of 2.5 hectares at the western West Lake urban area, our newly built campus has state-of-the-art facilities and classrooms. Both the Primary School and High School have their own discrete area in landscaped, natural and spacious grounds.
Using the latest research into school building design, the Westlink campus has been carefully planned with the needs of our students and their future in mind.
