I moved my daughter from one of the biggest international schools in Hanoi to Westlink, so I got the chance to compare them:
1. Academic wise, Westlink provides an equally high quality international program. However, my daughter shows much more progress since she has joined Westlink than when she was at the other school. The reason is the teachers here care so much more for each of the kid. Her class size isn't too small, 16 students, but I can tell all of the teachers here, especially the home room one, care for each individual, and they tailor what they teach based on the level of each of the kids.
2. I love their special "Unit of enquiry". At first, I didnt know what it was about (and honestly Im still not so clear now). But I can see they are teaching my daughter the soft skills, social knowledge, and more important, the way to always raise questions to gain more knowledge. And my daughter was able to apply what she learns from Unit of enquiry to her daily life, which is exactly what I would expect.
3. The program is so well rounded. Not only maths and English are important, I love how they give the remarkable attention to PE, swimming, art, music... and especially, their after school activities are very rich and useful. From gymnastic to cooking, theatre play, music, chess, ect... every day at school they have after school activities, really good value for money (other schools just have 2 or 3 ASA classes per week)
4. I really like their Friday assemblies where all the kids and parents gather in the auditorium to enjoy the kids' performance. In the class, they weekly have the personal presentation, where they present to the whole class about their research on a topic, within 2 mins. Very important skill if we want our kids to be leaders, bosses... or so when they grow up.
5. I appreciate their leaders, staff and teachers attitude. They are all so welcome, friendly and flexible. Of course, the school have rules, but the rules there are created to make things bettet for the kids. Hence when needed, they are willing to change, or make exception so that it works well for us.
6. Last but not least, because this is one of the reasons for I had to move the school for my daughter, eventhough she loved it so much. The communication between teachers and parents. The teachers in Westlink would respond to my messages almost immediately with very helpful information, using Toddle app. They would reply to me even after 10pm, or from 6am. I know some other schools have the rules that teacher wont work out of hours, and no private messages, only emails or school office calls. But Westlink teachers give us the flexibility. I didnt expect them to get back to me out of the hours like that so when they did, I felt so surprised, and of course, thankful.
Ps: one more important thing, currently their price is still very reasonable comparing to other schools. I hope when they grow bigger, they wont increase it too much, haha :))
