Head of School
ISHCMC is a vibrant co-educational school of over 1,400 students representing over 60 nationalities and provides a unique learning experience from Early Years through to Grade 12.
As one of the few IB Continuum schools in Vietnam, ISHCMC offers the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP). Through the IB curriculum, students construct understandings and knowledge of their world through personalized learning experiences and inquiries that develop a deep understanding of important concepts in global contexts.
We have a rich history of academic success with students’ examination results consistently surpassing the global average. A 100% pass rate in the IB Diploma programme, sees students typically receiving their first or second choice university, which are among the best in the world.
At ISHCMC, teaching and learning is guided by our Principles of Learning. They inform planning and, in the very best teaching, ‘interleave’ together to give the impression of classroom learning, which is smooth, consistent, immersive, and sustained. Our teachers are well qualified, experienced, care about their students and build positive relationships to ensure students reach their full potential. Many of our educators have advanced degrees and all of our educators are committed to ongoing professional growth and development.
We have organised the information available for this school into 10 sections and 33 questions. Click or tap on the name of each section to read more.

Campuses
Both our Primary and Secondary campuses are conveniently located in one of Ho Chi Minh City’s most charming neighborhoods, Thao Dien. With both of our campuses only a short drive away, our location means that families with children in different age groups don’t need to worry about long commutes. Thao Dien is a ward in District 2 situated only 15 minutes from the historic Saigon city centre. With a host of cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, boutique shops, gyms and more, it is one of the most settled areas for expat families and locals alike.
Technology
At ISHCMC we use technology in all areas of the education process. Students use a broad range of devices and applications such as the Google Education Suit to collaborate, communicate and create. All students in our Early Years and Primary Programs have access to iPads in the classroom. From Grade 3 upwards ISHCMC has a one-to-one Technology program in which every student is issued a school-provided device. We have a one-to-one iPad program in Grades 3 and 4 and a one-to-one laptop program from Grade 5 through Grade 12.
Sports
ISHCMC’s athletics and aquatics program gives students the opportunity to develop physically and teaches them important life lessons. Participating in sports gives children the outlet they need to develop physically and teaches them important life lessons about teamwork, perseverance, risk-taking, ethics, and sportsmanship. Our athletics and aquatics teams are recognized within Vietnam and internationally (Hanoi, Singapore, Bangkok, Phnom Penh,...) for their integrity, ability, and sense of fair play.
