About the school
Qualities and characteristics best defining the school |
The British International STEAM School is for preschool and primary school-aged students and is housed at the city-based campus in Eitler. The STEAM campus runs classes for students aged between 2 years and 11 years, covering a British style of education as a Cambridge school. The standard of learning is based on the Cambridge curriculum and England’s National Curriculum. |
Teaching approach of the school |
STEAM education lends itself to the Constructivist theory of knowledge. Although there is a large volume of research regarding this, in a nutshell it suggests that knowledge is not simply a set of external facts that can be mapped onto an individual but rather that the individual constructs knowledge for themselves based on prior experience. This enables the view that our knowledge and understanding is constantly being challenged and refined as new experiences are added which throw new light or redefine our current understanding. |
