Student
As a long-time student of Rocklin, I love the students and its teachers, but as a student in general, the school is far from amazing. Most of the five star reviews you see online are from staff/parents/students who have close and personal connections with the owners of the school so take their reviews with a grain of salt, although there are some merits to their outstanding review.
Many, if not all, staff are paid very late to the point they might as well be working for free. If this doesn't ring alarm bells in your head, I don't know what will. There is a lot of frustration with the administration in general, it's not anyone's fault but theirs lol. I think they're too ambitious about upgrading the school that they're not focusing on what they have now, which is why they have the exorbitant fees they do without the guarantee of the quality they preach (something they used to have ...somewhat).
In my honest opinion, it's why there's an influx of non-English speaking students or with no knowledge of the American education system instead of English speaking students because Rocklin is kind of dodgy in that sense. The teachers are doing the best as they can and all I hope is for things to smooth out for them because most of them are really nice people and I don't want them to leave.
For the students, the teachers are really nice, but unfortunately, it doesn't translate well to their teaching skills (not all of them, but some). I think some of them really want to be liked by the students to the point they are unnecessarily lenient, but otherwise, I think everything's alright. To quote a friend, "We're doing stuff, not really learning stuff." Sometimes the teachers are really good at teaching, but unfortunately, it's the students that aren't responsive.
This review is meant as a genuine criticism for the administration to read and change from a student who loves Rocklin as a whole, not to scramble and drown this review with good ones. If I had to choose Rocklin out of every school I've been to again, I'd still choose Rocklin. Most of my good memories come from here and I find myself delaying going home just to talk to the teachers and students longer.

You will not find better value for money in the international school scene in KL. The fees are reasonable and the quality of the instruction is top notch. I absolutely love that my child is receiving an American education in a multicultural community. Rocklin rocks :)
