The Class of 2023 have achieved the highest IBDP completion rate in the school’s history, with 97% of the Class completing the Diploma in May with a mean average tally of 30 points per student. Moreover, as the most inclusive Class in the school’s history, we’re proud of the 77% IBDP pass rate, with an outstanding 12% of the Class gaining a globally recognised 40+ points (all of whom gained the equivalent of a 1.0 in the German Abitur). |

The purpose of the Learning Support programme at LIS is to respond to the diverse learning needs of all students. This includes students who encounter mild to moderate difficulties. |
Learning support offered |
Student Support Services is a department spanning the whole school. It offers support to students and works closely with parents, staff and external care providers. We offer are counselling support; learning support; medical support; child welfare/protection. Students experiencing a specific learning deficit need support in acquiring skills and strategies that will enable them to succeed with the regular curriculum. Through ongoing observation, assessment and evaluation, learning support specialists and classroom teachers work together to ensure that students' learning needs are met. Learning support services may include withdrawal (individual and/or small group intensive instruction), in-class support by a Learning Support Specialist, differentiation by classroom teacher after consultation with Learning Specialist and monitoring student progress. |

Brief description of entry evaluation required |
If an applicant is considered suitable and LIS has available capacity, LIS offers an evaluation day, where possible, to get to know them first hand and allow them insight into LIS' environment and everyday routines. Where necessary, English and Mathematics are tested to assess students’ skill and grade level placement. All staff involved in the evaluation day will subsequently give feedback on the performance and behaviour of the student. The final decision to accept or decline the application of a student rests with the Principal of the school section in conjunction with the Head of School. |
