Altair school is a terrible school due to various reasons. It is filled with arrogant, self-important, and shallow students and staff. The school admin admits academically/intellectually weak students and pass them without merit. Altair doesn't suspend or expel students when it should (behavior . It fails to instill any values in students. There is a lot of nepotism in this institution (unqualified staff get hired based on personal connections rather than merit/credentials). Some teachers teach Literature when they only have a Degree in Management (this is very disappointing because educators are supposed to be qualified to teach). Some teachers at Altair don't feel a passion to teach. My kid was not encouraged or motivated by their teachers. I, as a parent did my part. I tried to do my best. Altair was very bad altogether
The school is not actually inclusive as it has no scholarship holders. Some teachers are verbally and emotionally abusive. The school administration is the worst. Serious issues like bullying are not acknowledged or addressed at all. Despite being one of Peru's most expensive schools, Altair has low educational standards. Altair's psychologists are not helpful, at all.
Altair is NOT the right school if you care about your kids’ education, development, growth and welfare. The infrastructure of the school is appalling (too small, too crowded, improvised, poorly organized/planned). There are several private schools in Lima that offer better value and quality (42 schools in Lima offer IB). Also, only English and Spanish are taught at Altair. Many schools in Lima teach 3 or 4 languages. Overall, Altair is a bad school. Avoid. They act like their school is great because they have Macs. In my experience I noticed a lot of shallowness, dullness, meanness from students, admin, and other parents. This school is not good and it's expensive. Thanks for reading my review.
