The SEN Program’s mission is to empower all students to develop self-efficacy, independence and to reach their full potential while nurturing their strengths through an inclusive culture that honors and celebrates neurodiversity. A range of services are offered to develop the skills and strategies necessary to address the needs of identified students in grades K-12. Services are provided to address educational needs, attending to students’ strengths while helping them to learn strategies in order to meet academic demands independently. This goal is achieved through a partnership between student, home and school. |

KG1 - G1: English as an Additional Language (EAL): Student applicants who are non-native English speakers are evaluated using the WIDA W-APT or MODEL Screener assessment as part of the application process. This assessment is administered on-site. Acceptance may depend on the applicant's level of English proficiency depending upon the grade level and amount of available EAL support. Upon admission, all non-native English speakers will be evaluated using the WIDA W-APT or MODEL Screener assessment to gather data on English proficiency levels to determine level of EAL support, if needed. G2 . G12: Appropriate grade placement will be determined by the administration on the basis of grade placement in a previous school, student records, teacher recommendations, English language ability, age and the ASL admissions screening process conducted by the school administration. Other relevant factors may also be considered at the discretion of the administration. |
