The school is an official music conservatory and offers all stages of education from Preschool to Baccalaureate, including the prestigious International Baccalaureate® (IB) Diploma Programme (DP). We have long been known as a centre for the creative arts and, together with Víctor Ullate Roche and Nuria Sánchez, co-director of the project, we have developed the only International Baccalaureate specialising in Performing Arts.
At Agora Madrid International School, which belongs to Globeducate, we provide an international education, oriented towards today's globalised world and with a special focus on education in values. Preschool is the basis for all the educational process. It is the time when foundations are laid. During this stage, the children start their development and an early stimulation allows the brain cell connections to multiply.
Work at primary becomes a little more academic and students begin to develop greater socialisation skills and cultural and self-awareness. Students are exposed to a range of exciting and positive experiences which form an integral part of the learning process. All activities are designed to enhance the children’s mental and intellectual capacities and the learning process is constructive and cooperative with a focus on encouraging the creative and independent thinking that makes each child unique. By the end of primary, children are mature, polite, responsible, confident in themselves and supportive of one another.
To facilitate a smooth transition from Primary to Secondary our Year 6 students already form part of the Secondary school family. Thus, in Year 6 pupils work on an age-appropriate curriculum but delivered by secondary teachers who begin to employ the methodologies and assessment systems that pupils will encounter at secondary level.
Academic expectations become a little higher and we begin to help the children to think more critically and analytically and to express themselves in a more mature way. We assess each student individually to ensure that we can construct the most appropriate learning pathways for their particular personal and academic needs.
Agora Madrid International School is an authorised IB school. The IB is a well-respected international Diploma which is accepted as an access qualification at the most prestigious universities worldwide. This ensures that, not only do our students follow a two-year programme that provides them with a broad and intellectually rigorous qualification, but they are also in a position to apply to the international universities of their choice.
International Baccalaureate specialised in Performing Arts
Agora Madrid and Víctor Ullate Roche Sing and Dance Project have developed an International Baccalaureate specialised in Performing Arts. A unique project in Spain that complements the prestigious International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program (DP) with artistic subjects of the highest quality and requirement.
Once the compulsory Secondary Education phase has been completed, students at Agora Madrid can choose to continue studying either the Spanish National Baccalaureate or the International Baccalaureate at pre-university level.
At this stage of their education students are expected to expand and deepen their level of intellectual, personal and social competence, and to acquire the knowledge and skills that they will need to prepare them to leave school and to move on to the next phase of their lives with confidence and maturity. Many of our students go on to further studies at universities either in Spain or overseas.
At Agora Madrid International School, our site and facilities have been carefully designed to provide our students with the best opportunities for learning. Our facilities are bright, spacious and versatile, and create a positive working environment, adapted to the needs of our students.
At Agora Madrid International School, we believe that practical lessons are fundamentally important for a proactive learning environment and provide an opportunity for students to put their theoretical knowledge into practice. The school has three laboratories and classrooms equipped with all the equipment and resources necessary to enrich and enhance the learning experience.
