These lessons are planned by a highly qualified and experienced language teacher in conjunction with the year group teacher to incorporate the key curriculum objectives. These lessons allow the small group being taught to have more attention and the intensive programme enable the students to make quick progress.

The Academy has a specialist teacher who is dedicated to remediating special learning difficulties. The extra lessons work on an individual or paired basis and concentrate on supporting pupils with difficulties including dyslexia, organisational difficulties, or poor concentration.

Brief description of entry evaluation required

Admission to Early Years Foundation Stage: An informal interview with the applicant and his/her parents. Being English speaking is an advantage but not a requisite.

Admission to Primary School: Applicants are required to forward the previous year’s school reports, contact details of the previous school and have an informal interview.
Key Stage 1 applicants will do a reading test, and some English writing and Mathematics.
Key Stage 2 applicants will do a reading test, and a written test in English and Mathematics.

Admission to the Senior School: Applicants are required to forward the previous year’s school reports, contact details of the previous school and have an informal interview.
Key Stage 3 applicants will do a written test in English and Mathematics. If the pupil is coming from a British school, to Year 7, and has taken SATs we may waive the English and Mathematics tests.
Level 4 will be the minimum requirement.
Key Stage 4 applicants will do a written test in English and Mathematics. If the pupil is coming from a British school and has taken SATs we may waive the English and Mathematics tests.
Level 6 will be the minimum requirement.
