About the school

Qualities and characteristics best defining the school

Founded in 2014, Westcoast International Secondary School, the only English-medium secondary school on the west coast of the island, is part of the Uniciti Education Hub encompassing the whole education offer of Uniciti.

Teaching approach of the school

In Form 1 to 3, a challenging, engaging and international minded concept focussed curriculum is studied by all pupils, the Cambridge Lower Secondary curriculum. It is WISS' job – of course – to engage all students in their learning but also to encourage and develop intellectual independence to a high level.

In form 4 and 5, the students work on a curriculum established for the IGCSE. These are external exams, set and marked by Cambridge, England and taken at the end of Form 5.

WISS is an International Baccalaureate World School and is authorised to implement the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. The programme started in January 2020 with form 6 students.
