About the school

Qualities and characteristics best defining the school

At Instituto Educativo Olinca, we are proud to be Mexico’s first IB school, seamlessly integrating the IB continuum (PYP, MYP, and Diploma) with the Cambridge International curriculum to serve children aged 1.5 to 19. As the pioneering Cambridge Early Years Center in Mexico, we lay a strong foundation through play-based learning, fostering curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking from an early age. This approach not only promotes holistic development but also prepares our students to excel academically and socially as they advance through their educational journey.

In Primary, our constructivist, inquiry-based education continues to build on this foundation. We offer a bilingual curriculum in English and Spanish, meeting international standards with Cambridge’s curriculum of Maths, Science, and Global Perspectives alongside the PYP.

As students transition to middle and high school, we expand their horizons with French as an additional language, enriching their linguistic skills and cultural understanding. The Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the Diploma Programme (DP) further deepen their academic and personal growth, equipping them with critical thinking, research skills, and a global perspective.

Our commitment to excellence extends beyond academics. We offer diverse enrichment opportunities, including our renowned MINI MUN and MUN initiatives, which develop leadership skills and global awareness. Our robotics and STEM programs are designed to enhance the learning experience, using technology to solve real-world problems and prepare students for future challenges.

Through a balance of standardized and baseline assessments, we track both academic progress and potential. Enrichment initiatives, micro-credentials, and work simulations provide students with a voice in their learning journey. Our international exchange programs and connections with Cognita schools worldwide ensure that our students are prepared to lead with a global mindset. Our dedication to sustainability equips them to tackle global challenges responsibly.

At Instituto Educativo Olinca, we are shaping the future by empowering each student to become a confident, responsible global citizen.
