ASM offers a student-centered, American-style education that encourages children to develop their full potential, achieve personal excellence and become global citizens committed to lifelong learning. We embrace the IB learner profile along with our school values of respect, curiosity, integrity, courage and kindness. Technology is a key focus and an integral part of student learning. Our elementary school integrates iPads to prepare students for the 1:1 laptop program that begins in Grade 6. The school also offers 3D design, robotics, digital art and photography and film courses in our ultramodern film studio. There is wifi campus wide.
Currently school enrollment is over 800 students and there are more than 100 full-time faculty employed. Our teachers are talented, highly educated, experienced and, above all, inspiring leaders. The school encourages faculty continued learning through a substantial professional growth fund.
ASM was authorized to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma in 1983. Students are also awarded the American School High School Diploma upon graduation. ASM student IB results have consistently surpassed world averages in terms of pass rate and average points.
We also offer an extensive range of co-curricular activities throughout the elementary and upper school, including f, golf, karate, a thriving Model United Nations, NHS/NJHS, ABRSM music exams and Wind orchestra, rock and jazz band, varsity sports, yearbook, chess and rock climbing.

ASM offers an American-style international program, preparing students for success in the International Baccalaureate Diploma program that begins in the last 2 years of our high school.

Learning at ASM starts with our Early Childhood program for 3 and 4-year olds. Students begin school at age 5 with Kindergarten and then continue elementary school through grade 5. Our middle school program covers grade 6-8 with students following an international or terza media track. High school is 4 years from grades 9-12, culminating with the IB Diploma program.
Facilities
We have state-of-the-art facilities and our campus is set on 9 acres of green space that includes:
• 7 modern science laboratories
• maker Space & Design Lab
• 2 full-sized American gymnasia complete with a dance studio, climbing wall and weight room.
• a 20,000 volume library with e-books
• a motion picture film studio
• interactive white boards in all classrooms
• integrated technology in the classroom: i-pads in elementary, a full laptop program from grade 6+, robotics, programming and 3D design, digital art and photography classes
• two separate outdoor playgrounds, a tennis court, an outdoor basketball court and a grass soccer field.
Athletics
The mission of the Athletics Program at ASM is to provide all students with the opportunity to develop fundamental movement skills that can be applied into a variety of team and individual based sports. Emphasis is placed on holistic fitness skills providing students with healthy habits, both physically and mentally, for a lifetime full of fitness.
The extensive middle school and varsity athletics programs at ASM offer students a wide variety of sports and provide the students with the opportunity to compete in two International Sports Leagues; the Northern International Schools Sports Association (NISSA) and the European Sports Conference (ESC).
