Students who are not fluent in our language of instruction benefit from our intensive language program that helps develop their language skills within their proficiency level. Based on the results of their diagnostic tests, students are engaged on the path they need to improve as fast and as efficiently as possible through intense support within the classroom or pullout lessons.

The main language of instruction is English, and we offer Arabic for natives, Arabic for Non-Arabs, French as a Second Language, and French as a Third Language.

Our students have meaningful experiences with modern, up-to-date methods and technologies used to improve and enrich their day-to-day learning experience, enhance their academic performance, and challenge the boundaries of traditional learning environments.
Technology tools currently used by our students and teachers include E-books, interactive boards, and accompanying lessons, an integrated learning system, as well as an integrated testing and learning system.
Beyond the classroom, our students continue to benefit from technologies developed by SABIS® that allow them access to a wealth of online learning tools from their homes, which complement and reinforce what they have learned in class.

Yes, E-learning is readily available in ISC-Muscat for all students, from the youngest preschoolers to the graduating seniors should the need arise. Every morning, they can log in to the SABIS® Digital Platform from their tablets or computers at home to check their daily and weekly plans and detailed schedules, in addition to downloading any assigned material.
As part of their day learning online, students attend a mix of classes, some that have been pre-recorded by their teachers and uploaded onto the SABIS® Digital Platform, and some that are given in a “virtual classroom” environment in real-time. Virtual classes are also recorded and uploaded onto the SABIS® Digital Platform, which students can access to watch again should they need to.

As required by the Ministry of Education, Islamic Education is provided to all Arab-Muslim students from KG 1 to Grade 12.

For non-Muslim families, we offer extra Arabic sessions.

All ISC-Muscat students will study towards both the Omani diploma and internationally recognized standardized exams such as the American-based AP®, ACT, TOEFL, and SAT I & II, as well as the British-based Cambridge IGCSE and O, AS, and A Level. This means all ISC-Muscat graduates will be able to choose to attend universities in Oman or anywhere in the world.

In 2022:
• 86% of students who sat for A Level exams scored A*-C
• 81% of students who sat for IGCSE exams scored A*-C
• 74% of students who sat for AP® exams scored 3-5
• 50% of students who sat for SAT exams scored 1150+

Homework is an essential part of the curriculum offered at ISC-Muscat, starting from Term 3 in Grade 4 and onwards. Homework is an opportunity for students to spend time outside of the class reviewing and reinforcing concepts taught in class. Homework is not an opportunity to learn new material; however, the extra practice that homework provides is a necessary part of the learning process.

In Grade 4 and below, it is not a practice to assign homework in ISC-Muscat. Nevertheless, it is recommended that parents find time to read with their children for 10 to 15 minutes each day. In Grades 5 and 6, students may be assigned a maximum of one hour of homework each day.
Students in Grades 7 to 10 should expect around 20 minutes of homework per assigned subject each day. In grades 11 and 12, the amount of homework per subject increases.

100% of our students are accepted to universities locally and abroad, including international universities in countries such as Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, Lebanon, Qatar, Bahrain, Singapore, Malta, South Korea, Grenada, etc.
The extensive list of universities includes MIT, Princeton, Harvard University, University of Oxford, University of Toronto, University College London, University of Cambridge, Columbia University, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, among many others.

Students who are found to be behind academically are rarely refused. Instead, they are offered, at an extra cost, one of several different solutions, depending on their academic needs.

Special Lessons: A student found to have difficulties in one subject attends extra periods in that subject until the level of the class is reached.

Full-Special Classes: Students are given accelerated programs intended to prepare them to join the regular classes. In many cases, Full-Special students have done the work of two or more scholastic years in one.

SABIS® Educational Summer Camp program (2-4 weeks in July-August): Taking place in Bath, United Kingdom, this abroad program provides students with the opportunity to benefit from courses that enhance their academic performance and prepare them for the upcoming academic year, including SAT preparation and university orientation program for older students. Public Speaking, Film Making, Coding, and Marketing courses will also be offered to students with a limited number of places available. All studies will take place in the mornings so students can indulge themselves in the afternoons, evenings, and weekends participating in sports, trips, music, art, horseback riding, and cultural activities, all in one of Britain’s most beautiful and culturally stimulating locations.

At The International School of Choueifat – Muscat, we understand that education is the key to the future and our teaching philosophy is aimed at delivering a top-quality education that allows all students, not only the gifted few, to use their education as a means to shape the future. As a result, we don’t label or categorize our students as gifted, able, and/or talented.

However, we offer all our students many opportunities to push themselves and their academic capabilities to reach their full potential. These opportunities include becoming a Peer Tutor or Shadow Teacher, a Subject Prefect, working with the Academic Department of the SABIS® Student Life Organization to organize academic events and initiatives, choosing to opt out of a course, practicing independent learning using SABIS® tools, among others.

There are no academic requirements for acceptance into Kindergarten (3 to 5 years of age). Prospective students at these levels are interviewed; they must be toilet-trained and able to speak and follow simple instructions.

Starting Grade 1, prospective students take diagnostic tests as part of the admissions process. Upon completion, the diagnostic tests are marked and a decision on placement is made by the school.

Students applying to KG1- Grade1 will sit for an interview; they must be toilet-trained and able to speak and follow simple instructions.
Students applying to enter Grade 2 and above sit for diagnostic tests in the core subjects. These tests help to determine if the students have attained the minimum expected standard for each subject.
The school then makes final placement decisions but can resort to the various strategies at its disposal to help bring a student to the required level (such as attending extra classes in a subject(s), etc.)

If classes are at full capacity, prospective students who have submitted the application may be added to a waiting list. In case seats become available or new sections are added, they may be invited to register on a first-pay, first-reserve basis.

There is no application deadline, but it is recommended that the admission process be initiated early on. Applications are accepted on a space availability basis throughout the school year.

Yes, our registration process is ongoing throughout the academic year, as long as there are spaces available.

Yes, all buses are equipped with proper safety tools, including camera surveillance as well as a tracker for bus speed and routes. Teacher assistants are available to make sure safety and proper attendance is applied at all times.

Yes, we provide healthy hot meals, in addition to light snacks, salads, sandwiches, pastries, fruits, juice, and desserts.

We offer vegetarian food options and all meat is Halal.

Yes, students must wear the school uniform. The uniform and the P.E. kit must be kept neat and clean at all times. It is the student's responsibility to be in the correct uniform every day. Boys may not wear jewelry; they must have a short, classical haircut and be clean-shaven. Girls may not wear make-up or nail polish; they must have their hair tied back and may wear only one set of simple stud earrings in their ear lobes. Students must not have tattoos

Our wide range of activities includes swimming, football, basketball, karate, table tennis, gymnastics, ballet, track and field, arts, and music, among many others.
Our Student Life Organization (SLO) departments offer a wide variety of clubs that students can join. These include but are not limited to: Chess Club, Art Club, Photography Club, etc.
By joining the SLO, students acquire a sense of belonging to their school and community. Students also develop leadership, organizational, and communication skills, which prepare them to perform better in a challenging and ever-changing world. Furthermore, students in the SLO raise their academic standards and improve their learning efficiency. The SLO encourages positive attitudes, behavior, and peer interaction, thus enriching the lives of students and allowing them to appreciate diversity.

Physical Education is offered as part of the curriculum, including football, basketball, swimming, athletics, volleyball, track & field, and table tennis.

Yes, we have sports teams in football and basketball for boys and girls, as well as gymnastics and ballet teams.
Other than in-school competitions, our student-athletes participate in local tournaments. Furthermore, they have the opportunity to compete at the SABIS® Global Sports Competition, a biennial grand sports tournament that gathers the most skilled student-athletes from across the SABIS® Network to compete in a series of challenging sporting competitions

ISC-Muscat’s modern campus boasts science and computer laboratories, computerized testing halls, a theater, a cafeteria, and a library. Our separate Kindergarten department has its own indoor swimming pool, indoor and outdoor playgrounds, and a KG car track.

Our sports facilities include:
