Riverside teachers come from across the English speaking world, in particular the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The French, German, Spanish and Czech teachers primarily teach in their first language. In addition to being teaching certified graduates many of the school's teaching staff hold higher degrees.

The Student Support Department supports students who have diagnosed needs. In addition the department supports students who do not have a diagnosis but who have been identified as needing additional support.

Students are identified as Gifted and Talented through exceptional test scores and recommendations by classroom teachers. These students have Records of Extension Provision that are supported by their classroom teachers.

Early Years, Primary and Junior High students wear school uniform. Senior High students have a dress code.

Riverside has an extensive after school programme of creative, artistic, sporting, skills for life and outward bound activities.
Some team sports that are currently offered are: Soccer, Rugby, Volleyball, Softball, Basketball, Tennis, Swimming, Gymnastics, Wrestling, Track & Field, Badminton, Floorball, Cricket, Inline Skating, Canoeing, Kayaking, Rock climbing, Sailing, Swimming, Lego Robotics, Taekwondo, Inline Floorball.

We have a full PE curriculum that includes individual skill development and team sports, outdoor education is integrated into the physical education curriculum.

We have a football, basketball, volleyball and swimming team.

Riverside’s aim is to provide a relevant international curriculum for every child to enrich their life and to prepare him or her for the experiences, opportunities and responsibilities of adult life. Riverside’s Primary Curriculum is based on the National Curriculum of England and Wales.
Junior High provides the foundation for secondary education. It builds on the learning and skills acquired in Primary and Elementary schools to deliver a curriculum which gives each student a broad range of knowledge, skills and opportunities for the future.
Riverside’s High School curriculum centres around the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) programme and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma programme. Graduating students earn the Riverside High School Diploma by acquiring the requisite number of credits in a broad area of the curriculum (described in our Senior High Curriculum Document) and also pursue the IB Diploma.
