In our Elementary classrooms (ages 6-12), students use technology for research, writing, creating presentations and learning typing skills. As they move through the Elementary grades, the curriculum widens to provide them with more skills.

IMSP offers a range of virtual classroom options such as teacher-guided video lessons, supervised work sessions, and art, drama, music and physical education classes via zoom. We utilize the Seesaw program to keep the families and parents connected and help each child manage their work. We also have social activities and parent events, both social and educational.

The Montessori curriculum is designed as a spiral, meaning that it builds on previous lessons. Due to this, gifted and talented student are able to move ahead in the curriculum at their own pace. We are able to tailor the curriculum and activities to cater to these needs.

Elementary age children (ages 6-12) spend a day visiting in the classroom, participating in lessons and interacting with their potential teachers and classmates. Elementary age children should be capable of attending to a given task for a specific time period, demonstrate self-motivation and self-control and display a maturity and emotional development that is appropriate for first grade. For students transferring into our Elementary program from another school we require copies of school records as well as an Evaluation form completed by the child’s current teacher. IMSP will supply the Evaluation form along with the admissions documents.

We offer a wide variety of extracurricular activities including music ateliers, dance, yoga, cooking, ceramics, computers, logic games, robotics, athletics, swimming, handicrafts, wood working and individual lessons for a variety of instruments.

In our Toddler (15 months to 3-years) program, we offer daily outside play and music and movement activities. Our classroom curriculum also offers movement though daily activities.
Primary children (3-6 year) participate in daily outside play and music and movement activities. Once a week they have Directed Movement, a module based program that goes through a variety of exercises.
Elementary students (6-12) have daily outside play and twice a week they have Physical Education, which takes place at a local gym.

IMSP has a large garden with free space for movement and activities and well as an open space room equipped with mats and materials. We rent a gym at a local school for Physical Education and certain extracurricular classes.
