Abdulaziz International School Al-Sulaimaniah opened in September 1999 to serve the international community in Riyadh - Licensed by the Saudi Ministry of Education. AIS is a non-selective school that admits boys and girls of a wide ability range. However, it aims at facilitating the attainment of university admissions and placements for all its graduates. For the academic year 2004-2005, AIS moved to a new campus in the Sulaimania district of the city, premises offers extensive educational facilities. There are three separate sections for KG, Boys (Grade 1 - 12) and Girls (Grades 1- 12) classes. In addition to well- equipped computer and science laboratories, two different libraries (Boys and Girls) and outdoor sports courts are available. AIS is managed by SABIS®, an international educational organization that was founded in 1886. The SABIS® curriculum offers a choice of external exams that qualify students to join American, British and other universities worldwide. |
Teaching approach of the school |
The curriculum at Abdulaziz International School is derived from the SABIS® Educational Program that caters for both the American and British external examinations while preparing students for the most prestigious universities in the world. Time and results have proved the SABIS® Educational Program to be highly effective. All courses are appropriate to the students' developmental stages and a well-rounded education is offered; however, the emphasis even from the early years is on academic achievement. Students study English and Arabic Language at the level determined by their academic background. Students' learning is continually monitored, ensuring that gaps are promptly identified and resolved through effective follow-up. All courses are structured. A unique system of academic tracking (the SABIS® AMS™ which is a computerized method of detecting gaps in knowledge) allows the administration to follow closely the progress of each individual student. Gaps are pinpointed as soon as they form, and the students' efforts are focused on eliminating these gaps. Valuable time is saved, and a gap-free cohesive structure of knowledge is built in students' minds. |
