Teaching approach of the school

The curriculum is based on a combination of the British and American systems.
At the Primary Level and first two years of Intermediary (Grades 1 to 8), MAR follows an American curriculum. From 2013-14, MAR is replacing the separate teaching of Physics, Chemistry and Biology with General Science, with the introduction of interactive science material to support.

At the senior level, MAR offers a choice between American and UK-based curricula with preparation for external assessments. For the UK-based stream, IGCSE and A level (Advanced Level) courses form the main core of the curriculum at the Secondary Level (Grades 9 to 12). In addition to the above subjects, business related subjects such as Economics, Business Studies, and Accounting are delivered.

English at IGCSE (grades 9 and 10) is offered as either English as a first language and English Literature or English as a second language.

The British stream students study the IGCSE and A Level courses over a period of four years, while the American stream embarks upon a four-year High School Diploma, during the course of which they sit SAT and SAT II exams in grades 11 and 12 respectively.
