Teaching approach of the school |
The school curriculum is completely based on Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, India. Care has been taken to build-in the all-round developmental needs of the children while designing our curriculum. In addition to scholastic subjects, computer education and sports & games are integral parts of the curriculum. It is child centered, innovative, value based and activity oriented with reinforcement of concepts taught with the help of hands on learning experiences, field trips and play way methods. YIS offers an expansive array of curriculum to meet the needs of students of all age groups. At the Kindergarten and Primary level YIS follows “Play Way Method” advocated by Jean Jacques Rousseau i.e. “Learning through self expression” and “Learning by Doing”. In the initial stages the focus is on oral language development and value education. Gradually other skills are integrated into the curriculum. In addition to scholastic subjects children are taught Music, Outdoor games and Art and Craft to sharpen their gross and fine motor skills. From Primary level onwards CCE scheme of evaluation as recommended by CBSE is followed. At the Secondary and Senior Secondary Levels YIS offers a comprehensive CBSE curriculum which helps students prepare not only for the CBSE examinations but also for competitive examinations like National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) and Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). |
