I have two children, one in PreK and one in grade 1. Like most families that move internationally, the transition was quite a big one for us, but the school worked tirelessly to ensure a smooth transition right from the start, beginning with admissions. All of my questions were answered thoroughly and it made things easy right from the get go.
When we got there, my children were welcomed with enthusiasm and open arms. It quickly became a place they grew to love. The teachers were kind and caring, and they work hard to create a classroom learning environment that promotes empathy, understanding and kindness. As a parent, one of the things I love most is how much my children were celebrated in the AOSR community.
I also appreciate the social opportunities that are offered outside of school hours. Things like the December Market and Mayfair help build connections and a strong sense of community and family for us at AOSR.
The administration is involved, visible and present, and in my experience communicates effectively. It is clearly evident the administration knows each individual child and genuinely cares for them. In addition to that, they have an open door policy and are always willing to listen to any concerns I have.
AOSR offers a variety of after school activities and that is another opportunity for my children to be further involved in the school community.
AOSR has, and will continue to be, a very important place for our family. It is a wonderful school and we feel lucky to be a part of it.

My two sons graduated from AOSR. They are each very different, and AOSR was perfect for both. Both were accepted into their first choice university. The AP program is rigorous and the teachers are able to support students to succeed with excellent marks on the exams. The IB program is also challenging, and the administration ensures that students have time to work with faculty, even after school. The leadership definitely puts students first in decisions. The community at AOSR is just so welcoming. We felt at home from the very start. Great school!

AOSR has always been a home to me and my family. Both of my siblings and myself attended AOSR for most of our academic lives and have always looked back at our time there fondly. Now, as a teacher and mother, I have the privilege of seeing the school through a new lens, yet with an equal amount of love and affection. My daughter feels comfortable, loved and cared for and asks me every day if she gets to go to school today. What more could you want for your child? We feel truly blessed to continue to be a part of this amazing community.

I find AOSR to be an authentic international school that offers IB/AP as well as the option of a dual italian/US curriculum starting in elementary school throughout middle school, rendering it unique for Rome. AOSR is working towards becoming one of the top international schools not only in Europe but also globally.

As a family that is always on the move, we were looking for a school that offered both an American and international curriculum so when we move again, the transition will be simple for our children. Our children were also excited about the campus and the variety of activities available.

I walked for the first time in AOSR in 1986 as a kindergartener and studied there until 8th grade. It has been my school for many years, the sense of community you feel accompanies you also when you leave. I realized that every time I spoke about AOSR I smiled, and thought it would have been the right school also for my son. At AOSR you grow in a real international enviroment, learning from different cultures you have the chance to grow as an open minded citizen of the world. Teachers are dedicated to the children and willing to communicate, they lead them in many ways. My son is happy every morning and is learning so much.. so I have to say AOSR thank you as a student and as a parent!

AOSR is our family’s second home since 2008 when my son entered in Grade 1.
Since the very first moment when we entered for the first time into the school premises for we entered for the Admission procedure, we had a positive and comfortable feeling that has never abandoned us over those 12 years.
Many things have changed into the school Community since then, my son has graduated last year, my daughter is currently attending Grade 10, two Head of School have changed, Principals have changed, new teachers have joined the school and others have left, new students and families have joined the school and others have moved, the school Community has changed and any single person we have met keeps a special place in our memory .
Despite changes, the school has never lost its core strengths: support and attention to each single student and to all members of the school Community, focus ... read full review

The entire school atmosphere at AOSR is a very enriching atmosphere the interaction between school administrators, teachers, parents and children is such a wonderful experience. Right away from the start of our school experience we realized this school was a relaxing and great educational facility that would allow our children to learn in an environment that also brought many extra curricular activities into their lives. Our children were also to be involved in cheer leading, soccer, football, basketball and many more activities!

As an international student in AOSR, I can confidently say that the school has helped me develop and establish who I am today and who I want to become tomorrow. The great support from teachers, students, and staff have welcomed me to the school 4 years ago and still support me everyday inside and outside school. The diverse and warm community in AOSR is what makes it so special, school events organized by teachers, clubs, and parents are very welcomed and supported by all. Classes' atmosphere are welcoming and personal, teachers have good relationships with their students even after school hours due to the small classes' size.
