In the Early Years classes, children have access to shared iPads and desktop computers, under the support and guidance of teachers and ICT Integration Coaches. This extends into a 1-1 programme in Grade 3 and Grade 4, with students using Lenovo devices to supplement teacher instruction. In Year 5, all children are issued MacBook Air laptops. Beginning in the MYP from Grade 6, SWIS has successfully implemented a BYOD policy with all children using Apple Devices. BYOD stands for Bring Your Own Device. It is the idea that students bring their own technical device to school. This popular concept started in the workplace, but is now used in schools around the world. |

To expand student's experiences and learning beyond our classrooms SWIS offers an After School Activity (ASA) program that is designed to promote our school values of integrity, Creativity, Empathy, Well Being and Sevices. As an IB school we also utilize our ASA programs to promote all of the charactierstics of the learner profile. The activities are designed to complement the school academic program with extracurricular activities that provide students with opportinities to participate in the Arts, Athletics, Academic Teams and Service Groups. Age approprate programs are available for students from Kindergarten to our DP2 classes. |

Young students have easy access to an outdoor soft surface play space, complete with a climbing frame and a sand pit as well as their sand and water trays. They also have a dedicated area where they can safely enjoy riding their tricycles, bicycles and scooters. Students at SWIS make good use of a 200 meter, 6 lane running track as well as a 100 meter sprint track and a separate long jump area. Two all weather football pitches, which cover an area of 3,500 square meters, are used throughout the school day. Multi purpose Gymnasium with its sprung wooden floor is equipped with retractable basketball nets and a full badminton court. Covering 1,500 square meters, the Gymnasium is a busy facility and is in constant use by students, staff and the wider SWIS community. Above the Gymnasium are a table tennis room and a fitness room. SWIS is very fortunate to have a wonderful 25 x 25 meter indoor heated swimming pool and a training pool for our youngest students. The pool has 8 lanes with diving blocks and individual changing rooms with showers, hairdryers and lockers available. SWIS also has an outdoor multi purpose area with two full sized Basketball courts which are often in use for friendly Basketball matches with other schools in the area. |
