Teaching approach of the school |
Insworld is a private school in Singapore. This gives us the freedom to organize our work in the way we think best matches our students’ needs. For this reason we choose only to work with small classes (4-12 students). This allows us to focus on the learning needs of each student as an individual, while maintaining a proper classroom dynamic and a clear focus on academic objectives. As a private school in Singapore, we can determine our own approach to how we work with our students. Our aim is to combine the best of Asian and Western approaches to education. We want to encourage students to be active participants in every lesson at every level, while maintaining a disciplined focus on key learning objectives. What sets us apart from other private schools in Singapore is that we can, and do, adapt our work to suit the ways our students study. We know our students better, so we know better exactly what they need to learn and how to help them learn it. Insworld offers high levels of support for students outside the classroom. We appoint a Personal Tutor for each student who will monitor all aspects of that student’s progress. Students meet their Personal Tutors every week. This is an important opportunity to give the school feedback, and to raise concerns. This is very important for international students who may be new to studying in Singapore and the way Insworld chooses to work. We can also arrange, at no extra cost, one-to-one sessions with subject teachers if a student needs extra support with a particular aspect of their study. As a result, students learn quickly and efficiently. This can mean a significant saving in cost and time. At the same time, their passions and strengths are recognised and nurtured to full potential in our diverse community. Insworld students gain an international perspective on the issues around them through interacting with other unique individuals from a variety of backgrounds. |
