At Morrison, we strive to provide the training and tools needed to fully utilize technology’s potential for learning. We also work intentionally to provide age adjusted levels of supervision and instruction to ensure these tools are used in appropriate and Christ honoring ways. Students in grades K-5 are provided appropriate devices for school use with supervision. In Middle School, students are assigned a school owned Chromebook which is to remain on campus. In High school, students are expected to bring their own device that meets Morrison expectations for our learning environment. The use of school-provided or students’ own electronic devices are carefully woven into the educational experience. |

Do teachers assign homework to their students? |
Yes. For Grade K-5, Homework should provide reinforcement of lessons learned in school. It should be limited in time and quantity, to encourage families to have time together. The main focus of homework should be reading. For Middle School and High School, Homework is an instructional strategy and is best used as independent guided practice to inform learning. Homework focuses on: 1) practice of new learning and solidifying concepts and understandings, 2) Pre-reading of new material to be introduced in class, 3) Reading for knowledge and pleasure. Different grades have different amounts and purposes of homework. |

Brief description of entry evaluation required |
Testing is standard for all students coming from non-English speaking schools or students who have been home schooled. Following testing, interviews with the principal are scheduled if space remains available in your child’s class and the results of your child’s testing are positive. |
Waiting list |
Morrison does not have a waiting list in the sense of “first come, first served.” If no space is available at your child’s grade level during the spring admissions season, your application will be kept active until admissions are completed for the school year for which you applied (this is normally in January). If a space becomes available after the normal admissions season is over, Morrison considers all of the applicants for that grade level and you will be contacted if Morrison is interested in inviting you for an interview. |
Deadline for registration (new academic year) |
Applications can be submitted anytime after November 1 of the year preceding the school year for which you wish to apply. Applications can be submitted any time, but it is best to have your application on file before April 1, as most testing is done from March through May. |
