If your first language is English and your Japanese is not strong. I highly recommend not joining this school. Firstly, the notices that the school gives are in Japanese, so you have to translate everything by yourself. Secondly, Along with the IB curriculum, we have to ( compulsory ) take physical education and music. Not only are the classes in Japanese but all the test and notes are also in Japanese. Yes, we have test for PE and music. These affect your GPA and if you fail, you have to stay in the school for another year. Homeroom is also in Japanese, so all the important information about school and class is so hard to understand. Thirdly, the people in this school mainly speak in Japanese, so if you want to make friends, you have to speak in Japanese.
I have tried many times to ask for English support but I only get a little for homeroom and nothing else. This school is really big and it is so tiring every morning to walk to class from the train station. ( AT LEAST 20 minutes). School ends really late ( 5: 30 pm-ish ) This is because we waste time having classes like music and PE which are 50 minutes each. The only good thing about this school is that the school is really pretty and it has a vending machine which is 8 minutes away from your class.
