Qualities and characteristics best defining the school |
Set within the rich cultural context of Austria and beauty of the Vienna Woods, The American International School Vienna is one of the top international schools in the country. Founded in 1959, AIS Vienna today proudly serves around 800 students, representing around 80 countries, from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12 (IB Diploma or American Diploma). The AIS Vienna core values -- respect, aspire, achieve -- ensure that students develop intellectually and interculturally, while internalizing the commitment and leadership necessary in today’s globally-minded world. |
Teaching approach of the school |
Students at the Elementary School benefit from outstanding and progressive academic programs, paralleled by rich fine arts, physical education, technology and German language instruction. The Middle School program includes Grade 6, 7, and 8, and is designed to help students to be successful through this period of adjustment. Our veteran faculty is organized in teams and class sizes are small enough so that students are able to receive individualized attention. In High School, our goal is to help each of our students define success in a nurturing environment that supports educational excellence. Ultimately we prepare our students for the next step in their lives after AIS Vienna. We offer the best in international education: challenging and diverse academic programs, fine arts and extra-curricular options, opportunities for community and school service, and an environment which fosters cultural appreciation and respect for diversity. |
