The ISH team has been excellent at supporting my family through a very challenging period with my child. Most people in the school community already know that ISH staff care, that academics are meaningful and challenging in all the best ways, but most families do not have to experience crisis. I think that this is where being at ISH has been different from other schools. During a period of crisis for my child (and our family), the ISH staff gave us so much support and guidance on how to help our preteen through. They take time to know the students and to connect with them. They helped my child and this help changed our experience with our child, completely to the positive side.

This is not school where children thrive. Teachers change constantly. So may good teachers leave due to poor treatment and pay. The school is more interested in collecting the fees than in the welfare of the child. There is a laziness to teaching with online materials instead of making the effort to actually teach. If the child cannot follow this type of learning method they can be lost. It is impersonal and demotivating for students. Robust children may thrive but children requiring alternative learning or creative teaching should go elsewhere.

What worse could happen to a child on their first day of a school visit? Within just one hour, my 4-year-old lost his front four teeth due to a football goal pole falling on him. He innocently attempted to play and hang on the pole, but it was shocking to witness the massive structure collapse on him with such force resulted in the loss of his front teeth, with two canines left half broken, and deep cuts on his lips.
The apparent lack of precautionary measures taken by the school made the situation even more distressing. The pole wasn't securely fixed in the ground and was not even marked as risky or labeled with a "do not touch... read full review

My both kids have been going to this school since 2019. We sent them to ISH because we had plans to relocate, but during Corona times and international instability we have decided to stay in DK. Being a Danish family we have considered many times to switch to a Danish school, but our kids thrive at ISH so well that we don't want to jeopardize anything. The school fees are quite affordable. Awesome teachers and staff. Even offer hot school lunch, which saves a lot of headache! Highly recommend!

My children have not started yet, but the whole admission process has been so welcoming.
Both my children got admission and so far the admissions Coordinator and even the math teacher have been so helpful.
The math teacher has offered extra help through online work and even personal meetings until my daughter starts in the new school year.
For now, I give the staff 5 stars.
Student
I am currently a student at this school and I highly don't recommend it. The whole school is focused rather on money than the students well-being. They promise students things such as field trips, however they almost never happen. What the school has to offer is definitely not worth 50k kr per year. The facility at Østerbro is horrible, overpacked with students and the lounge space is too small to fit all the kids. The teachers are lazy and step over and humiliate students who they don't necessarily like. Almost the whole school staff including the headmaster are people who do not care about the students, certain teachers use yelling as way to communicate, they also put down students and make the atmosphere tense. If you love your kid and want what's best for it then I strongly recommend not sending it to ISH.

in the past 3 years, I see how my son has grown up with the wonderful teaching and caring from the teachers in ISH. He spent the most important 3 years to set up the solid basis for further pursuit of his education.

This is our second year at ISH and we have been really happy with the school. Our boys love going to school every day and so far we have been lucky to have really wonderful teachers (K and PYP1). Although the school is more affordable than other international schools, it offers high level of teaching, great services like Learning Support, after school care and an electives program. It offers a great international community of students, parents and teachers, would highly recommend to any new family!

We are very satisfied with the school. Our kids (PYP and MYP) started in August 2020, in the middle of the pandemic. The school has been great in continuously communicating with parents and supporting the kids with online learning during the lockdown. There is also a nice parents community around the school, organising social events and supporting newcomers.

We really love this school! I have 3 kids there and this is our 3rd year at the school. Honestly, there are not a lot of choices for international schools in Copenhagen but, in my opinion, ISH is our favourite. Its a smaller school with a family-like atmosphere. It's great value-for-money and we love the diversity!
