The administration is disorganized and very often does not know what is happening in the school. I have brought some concerns about a few specific teachers to their attention and they were unaware of these problems. After being made aware, they twist it to blame the students. I have yet to hear them admit that anything they did was their fault like put the wrong name on a diploma.
In the MYP program, they have a hard time finding and keeping teachers. There is frequent turnover because of internal issues and they are never prepared to replace the teacher. One teacher went on parental leave and they didn't start looking for a replacement until the baby was born. The quality of the MYP teachers is extremely variable. There are a few gems but the bad apples spoil the school. The DP teachers are really good for the most part.
They do not have very many (if any) extracurricular programs. Any programs that they do have were created by the DP students and they are not continued by faculty when the DP students graduate. The teachers have some great ideas but they cannot get any traction for whatever reason.
Some of the teachers are stuck in the 1980s pedagogy, even some that were probably born in the 1990s. They are extremely punitive and when the students do not fall in line, they punish them more. This works about as well as expected.
This school is the only English school in the area for kids of this age. If you put your kid in this school and hate it because it is terrible, you have to move. Skip the middle step and go somewhere else to start with.
